Privacy Policy

Introduction

AI Text Rewriter ("the app"), made by HWY Enigma LLC ("we," "us"), helps you rewrite, humanize, proofread, summarize, translate, and otherwise transform text — in the app, from a system keyboard, and from the share sheet. This policy explains what data the app processes and how. The app is suitable for a general audience. By using the app, you agree to this policy.

1. How a Transform Works

When you run a transform (Humanize, Proofread, Rewrite, etc.) — in the app, the keyboard, or the Share extension — the text you submit is sent over a secure (HTTPS) connection to our backend, which forwards it to our AI provider, Anthropic, to generate the result. The result is returned to you. We do not retain the text or the result after the request completes.

2. Information We Process

2.1 Your text

The text you choose to transform is processed in real time as described above and is not stored by us.

2.2 Usage metering

To prevent abuse and to enforce free vs. Pro limits, our backend keeps a short-lived count of requests associated with a per-device identifier (Apple's identifier-for-vendor) and your network IP address. This is a usage count — not your text — and it expires automatically (within about 48 hours).

2.3 On-device data

Your notes, rewrite history, voice profiles (your writing samples), and glossary terms are stored only on your device. They are shared between the app and its keyboard/share extensions through a private, on-device App Group container. They are sent to our backend only as part of a transform you initiate (for example, to rewrite text in your saved voice), and are not stored on our servers. You can delete this data in the app or by uninstalling.

3. Third-Party Services

3.1 Anthropic (AI processing)

• Text is processed by Anthropic's Claude models via their API.
• Per Anthropic's API terms, API inputs and outputs are not used to train their models, and are retained only briefly for trust-and-safety purposes.

3.2 Cloudflare (our backend)

• Our backend runs on Cloudflare Workers, which routes requests and provides the short-lived usage-metering storage described above.

3.3 Apple

• Subscriptions and payments are handled entirely by Apple via the App Store and StoreKit.
• We verify your subscription status to unlock Pro features; we never see your payment details.

4. Permissions

• Microphone & Speech Recognition — only when you use voice dictation; speech is transcribed on your device.
• Camera — only when you scan a document; text recognition (OCR) happens on your device.
• Files — only when you choose to import a document.
• Keyboard "Full Access" — the Rewriter keyboard needs Full Access so it can send the text you select (when you tap an action) to our backend for processing. It does not record or transmit anything you type unless you explicitly tap an action.

5. Data Retention

• We do not retain your text or results.
• Usage-metering counts expire automatically (~48 hours).
• On-device data persists until you delete it or uninstall the app.

6. Your Rights (GDPR / CCPA)

Because we don't keep accounts or store your content, there is no profile on our side to access, export, or delete. Your on-device data is fully under your control — remove notes, history, voice profiles, or glossary terms in the app, or uninstall the app to delete everything. 7. Children's Privacy

AI Text Rewriter is rated for a general audience. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. The limited technical data we process (a device identifier and IP address, used only for usage limits and abuse prevention) is not used to build profiles, identify individuals, or for advertising.

8. Content

The app generates AI content based on the text you provide. To keep the experience suitable for a general audience, the service is designed to avoid producing profanity, sexual, violent, hateful, or other mature content, and it declines requests for such material. You remain responsible for the text you input and for how you use the results.
